Question Healing Body Peircing Scars

Hi all,

I would like to grow out my body peircings, I have 2 in each ear lobe, and one in the belly button.

However I am worried about what kind of scar it will leave. I imagine they will be red and possibly dented.

Is there any thing I could use to help them heal better? And is there any treatment afterwards which would fade the scars? I have very fair skin.

Thank you.

Once the piercings have been left out for a few months, you can have a scar revision, if necessary. How long were the piercings there? If it's only a few months, they may heal up completely on their own. If it has been a long time, then the holes may always be there, unless you have a surgical revision. Since you have fair skin, though, you should tend to heal well, without darkening or thickening of the scars.

Thank you for replying.

They have all been there for several years. What does surgical revision entail? Also, should I look for a surgeon who has any special qualifications or training in scar revision, or will most plastic surgeons be able to do the job?

Kind Regards,
Renee
